It was the 1970s, a time when a more earth conscious public pursued an interest in the feelings and emotions of plants. In 1973, Dorothy Retallack reported in her book The Sound of Music and Plants that plants did in fact feel emotions not unlike humans and animals. Using three separate laboratories at the Colorado Women's College in Denver, Retallack would play three different kinds of music to three of the same plant species. Rock music made them sick! And then some guys made plant records. Fuck you plants!
